ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER ENDORSES DIANE DIXON FOR STATE ASSEMBLY

Orange County, Calif. – – Today the Orange County Register announced its endorsement in the election for the 74th Assembly District, choosing to endorse challenger Diane Dixon over Cottie Petrie-Norris. The Orange County Register is one of the most influential endorsements in Orange County politics.

In their endorsement, The Register stated, “Diane Dixon is championing fiscal responsibility, reducing pension liabilities and curtailing unnecessary regulations..

“While Petrie-Norris refused to offer a position on split roll on the fuzzy grounds that it’s up to the voters, Dixon is up front about wanting to see Proposition 15 defeated. Dixon will repeal Assembly Bill 5 and defend school choice.”

“The Orange County Register stated emphatically what many voters in the 74th District already know,” said Dixon campaign consultant Dave Gilliard. “On issues that matter, such as Assembly Bill 5, or Prop 15, Cottie Petrie-Norris often has no position or worse yet is voting with the liberal party bosses in Sacramento instead of the voters of her district.”

The election for the 74th District is sure to be one of the most competitive campaigns in the 2020 election cycle with the district being one of the few Republican majority districts currently represented by a Democrat.

The 74th Assembly District is home to the cities of Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach,  Laguna Beach, Laguna Woods, Newport Beach, and portions of Irvine.
